Lol found out half way through that there was a deadline and that it was couple of days away.

but ye know what?
I'm a Third Year Illustrator bitchez.

Part of that means finding a quick way of doing this, end result is okay, little whorish effects-wise but deadlines do that. actually got the lighting idea from [link] which Apes seemed to like so i thought Id run with it like scissors.
I also left the lineart naive thinking I"d be doing a more in depth colour laterz... so bad so sad

I took a few liberties with the outfit, dropped some elements altogether and gave some a bit more emphasis, the gauntlet being a key example.

As far as working form someone else's initial design this one was one of the better ones to have started with. I come from a very different school of colour selection so i really enjoyed these kinds of colours

My only real criticism of the characters design is that he's supposed t be a bit of brawler but he has total 27 facial piercings. These two elements do not in my experience mesh well. Except in the absolutely literal sense
